Hey-ho People!

I am back with a blogpost! BTW if you want to see things I am writing about in this post check my YouTube video – link below ⇣😉

Today I will tell more about what can be found in the area of Asakusa.

Senso-ji or as it is also called Asakusa Kannon Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo. It is located in a popular area – Asakusa. Before entering the temple, you will need to go through the giant gateway, which in this case is called Thunder Gate due to the fact that on both sides there are statues of deities: Raijin (deity of thunder) and Fujin (deity of wind). You cannot miss the large red paper lantern (3.3 meters high and weights 667 kg) almost every visitor takes the iconic photo, I did too🙈

After you pass the gateway you start walking a shopping street, where you can find everything from rice cakes to toys and hair accessories.

There are around 115 shops in total. After you walk along the street in the very end you can see the actual temple and Chinese style pagoda. Interesting that the ceiling inside of the temple is decorated with Korean origin images of early time. Before entering the temple, you have a possibility to inhale the smoke that is believed has magical power and can cure your body or make you smarter. Also, in order to be able to pray in the temple you need to wash your hands, mouth and soul in the fontaine that is located right in front of the temple (Watch the video that is linked below in order to know how exactly you need to use the fountain). If you want to know more about temples and shrines in Japan, and how they differ – read this article I posted earlier.

*Important Fact: to pray in the temple or shrine you need to use 5 yen. In Japanese “five yen” is pronounced “go-en” similar to term that means long and meaningful relationships. So, 5 yen is used with the intension of establishing a good connection with the deity of the temple/shrine.

Not far away from this temple you can find Tokyo sky three which is the highest tower in Japan and in the world (634m). The price for the tickets varies but be ready to spend up to $20 (see the official website for the price range http://www.tokyo-skytree.jp/en/ticket/). If you want to see Tokyo from the bird perspective but for FREE check Tocho Building – a 48-story twin-tower design of which was inspired by Notre Dame!

Finally, I want to tell you about one of my favorite Japanese dishes! O-konomi-yaki – savory pancakes that contain different ingredients. If you want to see how they are made – check the video below! We tried two different styles of o-konomi-yaki: Japanese and Korean (I prefer Japanese😜). Here you go a recipe if you will try to make it definitely use #inspiredbyluna so that I can like your masterpieces! ❤️🥰❤️

How to make:

  1. Mix flour, stock and eggs. Then add green cabbage and add salt & paper of taste.

  2. Melt butter on a pan. Spread the mix (#1) equally and add the meat on top. Cover and cook (7 min) or until bottom is browned.

  3. In order to flip the pancake, use the cutting board or big plate. Cook for another few minutes then put on the serving plate.

  4. On top put BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, Katsuobushi, ginger and sliced nori.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ENGOY!❤️❤️❤️
