The short film 'Bogdana' opens up just one page in the history of Ukraine. It reveals a very specific story, yet the experience shown in the film was shared by the millions of Ukrainians. Thousands of families were separated, - men sent to Siberia, women left alone with children living in fear and poverty. This chapter of Ukrainian history, which covers the 1940s - 1970s, has a bitter shade of loss and pain. Till today people remember those dark times and tears of those who faced the representations haven't dried.
This project aims to make Ukraine closer to people around the world. Educate on culture, traditions, and history. The mission of the project is to bring awareness and show respect to people who fought for Ukrainian identity, the country, the nation!
'Bogdana' isn't the first project that covers this topic. The brutal times were engraved by poets, authors, filmmakers, musicians, and artists.
