Bogdana studied in an elementary school in village Olenivka. Later the girl needed to attended school in a small town 6 kilometers away. It was the closest school to Olenivka so she and two other children from her village went there.
In school, she studied well. Especially Bogdana loved literature and geography. She was very good at art, drawing with a pencil.
There were ups and downs in the girl's school life as she got bullied to be a "village girl" and "banderivka". It was tough as her father was in-prisoned and her family was poor. She used to walk to school in her mom's winter boots and wearing her 'hustynka' (traditional head covering).
