Do We Need Education?!

I just got the task for uni. We needed to write shortly about something that is meaningful for us so I decided to write about intelligence) What do u think guys, is it important to be smart?

I strongly believe that knowledge and intelligence are the main drivers of progress. However, more and more people tend to think that education is not that important. While my opinion on that is that actually education is very important. Another thing is that it is outdated and not entertaining enough.

While talking about education, I feel that during school years children need to learn a lot and in a wide range. So they will have the possibility to be comprehensively developed. And at the same time, in the future, it will be easier for them to find out about what they want to do. Additionally, training and workshops instead of boring patterned lessons will increase their passion for gaining knowledge. On the other hand, university studying should be really narrow and give the possibility to run extra courses of the interest as the benefit of sufficient studying. Finally, students need to have the possibility to have internships during studies. As well as international conferences and lectures. The world of studying should be linked instead of centralised in 1 country or even 1 university.

The previous paragraph shows that gaining knowledge in the more interesting way is possible. However, another question arises: “Why do we need to study?”. There will be always people who would think they are talented enough to work without studying. However, in my opinion, these people can be compared to no-cut diamonds. So their value is decreasing. Studying provides us with specific information regarding one or other sphere. By studying the theory, you can learn about errors and misunderstandings that have arisen in the past and avoid them in the future. It's also a great opportunity to find out beliefs and positions of highly qualified individuals from different fields. All of these will form the specialist that have not just the natural talent but also the broad perspective view on issues in their sphere of the activity.

Finally, after understanding that education can be both interesting and useful we came to the point where it is actually the main driver of progress. After all, if there were no passionate people, who worked a lot to improve their knowledge we would still sit outside without no light and think that Earth is holed by elephants that stand on a big turtle. Or even worse, we would extinct as a species. As knowledge and base that we create when we share them can be seen as one of the perspectives of evolution.
